The All-New Volvo XC90



In 1979, Aristotle Onassis and his close partner Vassilis Lefakinis (Bill) decided to bring yachting charter to Greece; Bill was considered as one of the ‘top guns’ in maritime tourism globally. For the realization of this project, Aristotle and Bill invited many famous Americans and celebrities from around the world and yachted them in the Greek islands by using the yacht 'Christina' and other leading Greek and non-Greek owned yachts of the time. Personalities such as J. F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, George Bush, Bo Derek and Hugh Hefner along with his ‘bunnies’ enjoyed the Greek islands. The goal had been achieved, as the media’s spotlight started falling onto our beautiful islands while the most recognized journalists around the world were making tributes for them.

yachting 1One year later, 'Yachting' magazine was founded, to satisfy the lifestyle needs of all those celebrities. The magazine’s context was dedicated to yachting chartering and to celebrities from all over the world, with special emphasis given to the beauty and the potential of the Greek seas and islands. ‘Yachting’ was the platform for many Greek star-journalists of the most popular TV channels and newspapers to start their career. Undoubtedly, the magazine holds a unique place in the Modern Greek-Press era.

yachting 2In 1995, the magazine’s reins changed hands and a new name, 'Sea and Yachting', was given to it. The success kept growing. With the sole aim of promoting Greece, the Editorial Team along with the former King Constantine made the first moves to bring the Olympic Games back to Greece. During that time, the Team never hid our deep love for sailing which was a relatively unknown sport in our country and, hence, the athletes had insufficient financial support. Through ‘Yachting’ pages and a series of actions, both offshore and racing sailing were promoted. The Team also stood by Nikos Kaklamanakis, the well-known Greek champion, supporting him actively.

In 2002, feeling its readers’ needs and holding on its self-evolving character, the magazine was renamed to 'Yachting Capital'. Shortly afterwards, yachting was adopted by the elite Greek businessmen and became their passion, lifestyle and the place of their business meetings. ‘Yachting Capital’ has since been established as the only magazine that businessmen carry from their office to their yacht and from there to their home. It is the media which provides on a monthly basis comprehensive information on the luxury lifestyle, the top-class galas and the expensive gadgets while, at the same time, gives a detailed presentation of the leading-edge mega yachts sailing the seas or being under construction in shipyards around the world.

Με αφορμή το θάνατο του μεγάλου σχεδιαστή Καρλ Λάγκερφελντ, γεννήθηκε η ανάγκη να αναφερθούμε στο κατά πόσο η μόδα παίζει σημαντικό ρόλο στη ζωή μας, στην καθημερινότητά μας αλλά και στην κουλτούρα. Η μόδα αρκετές φορές έχει καταρρίψει στερεότυπα χρόνων, έχει αλλάξει την οπτική μας σε πρόσωπα και καταστάσεις και έχει γίνει αρωγός στην προσπάθεια να ανακαλύψουμε και να παρουσιάσουμε στον κόσμο τον πραγματικό μας εαυτό.

Μόδα δεν είναι ένας συγκεκριμένος τύπος ρούχων, ένα συγκεκριμένο παπούτσι ή μια συγκεκριμένη μάρκα τσάντας. Μόδα είναι η απελευθέρωση των συναισθημάτων και των αισθήσεων η οποία μπορεί να εκφραστεί με πολλούς τρόπους, όπως είναι ένα total black σύνολο ή ένα πολύχρωμο σύνολο με έντονα στοιχεία και χρώματα που φαντάζει τόσο αταίριαστο αλλά στο βάθος δένει αρμονικά και προβάλλει τη διάθεση και τον χαρακτήρα του ατόμου.

Τη μόδα θα την παρομοιάζαμε με έναν ανήσυχο, προνοητικό, βαθιά συναισθηματικά και εξαιρετικά συγκεντρωμένο στον πολιτισμό άνθρωπο, ο οποίος έχει κάτι να πει, κάτι να δηλώσει. Κάθε επίδειξη μόδας, δεν είναι ένα απλό event, αλλά με αυτόν τον τρόπο αντιλαμβανόμαστε τη ψυχοσύνθεση του σχεδιαστή και τι θέλει με τις δημιουργίες του να πει και να περάσει στο κοινό του.


Due to the death of great designer Karl Lagerfeld, we feel the need to investigate see whether fashion plays an important role in our lives, in our everyday lives and in culture. Fashion has several times removed stereotypes which have been established for years. It has, also, changed our perspective for people and situations, and has been helped in discovering and presenting to the world our true self.

Fashion is not a specific type of clothes, a particular shoe or a specific bag brand. Fashion is the release of emotions and senses, which can be expressed in many ways, such as a total black set or a colorful set with bright elements and colors that looks so unclear but deeply blends harmoniously and displays its mood and character person.

Fashion is like an anxious, provident, profoundly emotional and highly cultured man who has something to say, something to say. Every fashion show is not a simple event, but in this way we perceive the designer's psychosis and what he wants with his creations to say and pass to his audience.
